GTA 6 police and emergency vehicles are among the most common things in the trailers. Patrol cars chase getaway drivers through tunnels, police helicopters follow a pickup through the swamps, and officers set up roadblocks at Port Gellhorn intersections. Rockstar has not named any models, but the types are clear.

This page covers what has been seen and what we expect, based on past games.

Which police vehicles are in GTA 6?

From official screenshots and trailers:

  • Patrol cars, at traffic stops and in chases across Vice City
  • Police helicopters, including one chasing a truck through Grassrivers
  • Roadblocks, set up with cruisers at intersections in Port Gellhorn

Likely: different regions get different police, such as city police in Vice City and county sheriffs in the countryside, as GTA 5 had with the LSPD and the Blaine County Sheriff. See our wanted system page.

Will there be police boats and the Coast Guard?

Leonida is surrounded by water, and Cal Hampton listens in on Coast Guard radio chatter. Likely: police boats and a Coast Guard presence are in the game, especially around the Leonida Keys where smugglers work.

Are there ambulances and fire trucks?

Every 3D GTA has had ambulances and fire trucks that respond to accidents and fires. Likely: both return. Older GTA games let you steal them for paramedic and firefighter side jobs. Speculation: a modern version of those jobs could come back. See side missions.

Can you steal a police car in GTA 6?

You could in every GTA so far. Likely: yes again, though it will probably raise your wanted level fast.

Will the military appear?

GTA 5 had a military base with tanks and jets. Speculation: GTA 6 has some military presence, but nothing military has been shown yet. See planes and helicopters.
