GTA 6 Planes and Helicopters
Seaplanes over the Keys, a helicopter above Mount Kalaga and a private jet over the Vice City sign all appear in official GTA 6 images. Here is what we know and expect about flying in Leonida.

GTA 6 planes and helicopters have not been a big part of the trailers, but they are there if you look. Official screenshots show a seaplane over the Leonida Keys, a helicopter low over the hills of Mount Kalaga, a private jet sweeping over the Vice City sign and police helicopters chasing a truck through the swamps.
Aircraft in GTA 6 are effectively confirmed as part of the world. Whether you can fly every one of them is the open question.
What aircraft are in GTA 6?
From official screenshots and trailers:
- Seaplanes, flying over the Leonida Keys and moored at swamp camps
- Helicopters, including police helicopters in chases through Grassrivers
- Private jets, seen over the giant Vice City sign at sunset
- Small propeller planes, such as a biplane spotted over the forests below Mount Kalaga
Our main GTA 6 vehicles page covers cars, and boats covers the water.
Can you fly planes in GTA 6?
Likely. Every 3D GTA since GTA 3 has let you fly something, and San Andreas and GTA 5 had full flight with jets, helicopters and small planes. The original Vice City had helicopters and a seaplane, the Skimmer, which makes the seaplanes in the GTA 6 screenshots a nice nod to the 2002 game.
Are there airports in GTA 6?
Vice City International Airport shows up in in-game captures, including a bright private terminal lounge. Likely: smaller airstrips exist too. One official screenshot shows Brian Heder handing over a package at a small airstrip, which fits his drug-running business. See the full list of known places on the interactive map.
Will there be a flight school?
GTA San Andreas had a pilot school, and GTA 5 had the San Andreas Flight School with medal challenges. Speculation: GTA 6 has a similar way to learn to fly, maybe tied to a story character. Seaplane and helicopter lessons would suit Leonida's islands and swamps.
Will you need a licence or skill to fly?
GTA 5 had a flying skill stat that made planes steadier as it rose. Speculation: GTA 6 keeps something similar. See skills and stats.
Can you buy a plane or helicopter?
GTA 5 let you buy hangars and aircraft in story mode. Speculation: expect something similar for Jason and Lucia once the money starts coming in. See properties and businesses.
