The Leonida Keys are GTA 6's version of the Florida Keys, a chain of small islands strung together by long highway bridges at the southern tip of Leonida. It is home ground for Jason Duval, one of the two protagonists.
The trailers show turquoise water, low bridges, marinas and laid-back island towns. The interactive map shows the Keys landmarks we have spotted so far.
What are the Leonida Keys in GTA 6?
The Keys are one of six regions listed on Rockstar's official site. They are a mix of quiet islands, fishing spots and small communities, with a reputation for smuggling. If you want sun, boats and trouble away from the city, this is where it is.
The long highway bridges are one of the most recognisable sights in the trailers, and we expect them to be a favourite spot for drives and chases. Our scenic drive from Vice City to the Keys covers the route.
Who lives in the Leonida Keys?
Jason Duval works for local drug runners in the Keys. He stays on the property of Brian Heder, an old-school drug runner who lets Jason live there rent-free in exchange for help. Brian is married to Lori.
Jason's friend Cal Hampton is also tied to this side of the story. Cal is a conspiracy-minded homebody who listens in on Coast Guard communications, which makes sense in an area where so much moves by water.
What can you do in the Keys?
Rockstar has not listed activities, but the trailers give strong hints. We expect:
- Boating, jet skis and speedboats between islands, covered in our GTA 6 boats guide.
- Fishing and time on the water.
- Smuggling-style jobs that fit Jason's work.
- Long drives over the bridges with ocean on both sides.
How do the Keys connect to the rest of Leonida?
We expect the Keys to link to the mainland by the highway bridges seen in the trailers, with Vice City to the north. Boats should give you a second, faster way to hop between islands.
