Getting around in GTA 6 will mostly mean driving, riding and sailing across Leonida, with cars, motorcycles, speedboats, jet skis and airboats all shown in the trailers. Fast travel, taxis and public transport have not been confirmed, so most of this page is informed expectation.

Leonida is a big, varied state, so knowing your options will save time. Use the interactive map to plan routes between regions.

What vehicles can you use in GTA 6?

The trailers show plenty of ways to move:

  • Muscle cars, sports cars and everyday sedans.
  • Motorcycles, covered in GTA 6 motorcycles.
  • Speedboats, jet skis and airboats, see GTA 6 boats.
  • Police vehicles in chase scenes.

Our GTA 6 vehicles page tracks every model spotted so far.

Is there fast travel in GTA 6?

Rockstar has not said. GTA 5 let you take taxis and skip the ride, and we expect something similar to return. With a map that stretches from the Keys to Mount Kalaga, some form of quick travel seems likely, but treat it as a rumor until confirmed.

Can you fly in GTA 6?

Planes and helicopters have not been shown clearly in the official footage. Every recent GTA has included aircraft, so we expect them, but there is no confirmation yet. Flying would be the fastest way to cross Leonida.

What is the best way to get around Leonida?

Until we can test it ourselves, here is what we expect to work best:

  1. Fast cars for city streets and highways.
  2. Boats for the Keys and coastline.
  3. Airboats for the swamps of Grassrivers.
  4. Motorcycles or off-road vehicles for forest trails.

Driving also has risks. Our wanted system page explains what we know about police chases.

Will there be public transport?

Unknown. Real Miami has a metro and buses, and Rockstar may include versions of them. Nothing has been shown in the trailers, so this remains speculation.

Once GTA 6 is out on 19 November 2026 we will confirm which travel options exist and update the advice on this page.

FAQ

Does GTA 6 have fast travel?

Can you drive boats in GTA 6?

Boats, jet skis and airboats appear in the trailers, and we expect them to be drivable.

Are there planes in GTA 6?

Not confirmed. Aircraft have appeared in every recent GTA, so we expect them, but Rockstar has not shown them clearly.

How long does it take to cross the GTA 6 map?

Nobody knows yet. We will time drives across Leonida after launch and add routes to our interactive map.
