GTA 6 PC Release

GTA 6 on PC has not been announced, and the game launches on November 19, 2026 on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only. A press report from October 13, 2026 claims Rockstar is preparing a GTA 6 PC version for early 2027, but that is unconfirmed.

We think a PC release is very likely at some point. The question is when.

Is GTA 6 coming to PC?

Officially, Rockstar has not said. The release date and platforms announced so far cover consoles only.

That said, every recent Rockstar open-world game has eventually reached PC. Given that history, we consider a PC version highly likely, which is why this page is tagged as likely rather than rumour.

When will GTA 6 come out on PC?

The latest report suggests early 2027. You can read more in our news story on the GTA 6 PC early 2027 report.

If that is accurate, PC players would wait only a few months after the console launch. Until Rockstar confirms a date, treat any PC window as a target rather than a fact.

Why is GTA 6 not on PC at launch?

Rockstar has traditionally launched on consoles first and brought games to PC later. Here is how past releases played out:

• GTA 5 reached PC about a year and a half after its original console launch.
• Red Dead Redemption 2 reached PC about a year after consoles.

We expect the reasons are similar this time: focusing on a polished console launch, then taking extra time for the wide range of PC hardware. Our delays timeline shows how much care has already gone into the console version.

What PC specs will GTA 6 need?

No system requirements exist yet. Based on the console versions, we expect a demanding game that will likely want a modern multi-core CPU, a current-generation graphics card and a fast SSD.

The install will likely be large. Our file size estimate for consoles is a useful guide to how much storage you might need.

Should I wait for PC or buy on console?

If you want to play on day one, consoles are your only option. If you are a PC-only player happy to wait, holding off for an official announcement makes sense.
