The GTA 6 price is $79.99 for the Standard Edition and $99.99 for the Ultimate Edition in the US. In the UK, Grand Theft Auto VI costs £69.99 and £89.99 respectively.

Both editions launch on November 19, 2026 for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S. Below we break down what each one offers and how to decide.

How much does GTA 6 cost?

Here are the confirmed launch prices:

  • Standard Edition: $79.99 / £69.99
  • Ultimate Edition: $99.99 / £89.99

That makes GTA 6 one of the pricier standard releases of the generation. It reflects the scale of the project, and for a game many players will spend hundreds of hours in, the cost per hour is likely to be very low.

What is in the Standard Edition?

The Standard Edition is the full game. You get the complete story of Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos and the whole state of Leonida to explore, from Vice City to the Keys.

If you just want to play GTA VI, the Standard Edition is all you need. Nothing in the story is locked behind the more expensive version.

What is in the Ultimate Edition?

The Ultimate Edition costs $20 more and adds extra in-game content on top of the base game. Rockstar has not yet published a full itemised list of everything it includes.

If it follows the pattern of past Rockstar premium editions, we expect a mix of cosmetic items, vehicles, weapons and possibly in-game cash or bonuses for online play. Treat that as expectation until the full contents are shown.

Can I upgrade to the Ultimate Edition later?

Yes. Rockstar has confirmed you can upgrade from the Standard Edition to the Ultimate Edition after purchase. That means you can buy the cheaper version now and decide later.

This is a good option if you are unsure whether the extras are worth it, or if you want to wait and see what the Ultimate content actually includes.

Which GTA 6 edition should I buy?

For most players, the Standard Edition is the sensible pick. It contains the full game and you can upgrade later if you change your mind.

The Ultimate Edition makes more sense if you plan to dive deep into online play or simply want every extra on day one. Either way, pre-ordering gets you the pre-order bonuses, and buying digitally lets you preload from November 12.
