Rockstar has not confirmed GTA 6 frame rates or resolution. Here is what we expect on PS5, PS5 Pro, Xbox Series X and Xbox Series S, clearly marked as speculation.

GTA 6 performance on PS5, PS5 Pro and Xbox Series X|S has not been officially detailed. Everything below is our expectation for how Grand Theft Auto VI will run, based on the trailers and Rockstar's past games, so treat it as speculation until launch.
We will replace these estimates with tested results after November 19.
Will GTA 6 run at 60fps?
We do not know yet. Our expectation is that the base consoles will target 30fps, prioritising visual detail, dense crowds and the scale of Leonida.
Rockstar's last big console release, Red Dead Redemption 2, ran at 30fps on its original platforms. Given how ambitious GTA 6 looks, a 30fps target on standard hardware seems likely. A performance mode is possible but unconfirmed.
How will GTA 6 run on PS5 Pro?
The PS5 Pro has more graphics power and improved upscaling. If GTA 6 receives Pro enhancements, we would expect sharper image quality, better ray tracing or a smoother frame rate than the base PS5.
Whether that means a 60fps mode is the big unknown. It is the question fans ask most, and we will answer it properly once the game is out.
How does GTA 6 compare on Xbox Series X and Series S?
We expect the Xbox Series X to perform very close to the base PS5, as the two consoles are similar in power.
The Xbox Series S is the one to watch. We expect a lower resolution and possibly reduced detail settings to keep performance stable. Storage on Series S is also tight, so check our preload and file size guide before launch.
What graphics features does GTA 6 use?
The trailers show detailed lighting, reflective wet streets, crowded beaches and realistic water. Based on that, we expect heavy use of modern lighting techniques and possibly ray tracing on current consoles.
The launch trailer breakdown and weather page look closer at the visual details on show. Trailer footage is not always representative of real-time performance, which is another reason to wait for tests.
Which console is best for GTA 6?
Until we see the game running, our tentative ranking is:
- PS5 Pro, if it gets an enhanced mode
- PS5 and Xbox Series X, likely very close
- Xbox Series S, likely the lowest resolution
