GTA 6 Car Customization
Rockstar has not shown a GTA 6 garage or mod shop yet. Here is what car customization is likely to look like, based on GTA 5 and the cars in the trailers.

GTA 6 car customization has not been shown by Rockstar, so everything here is expectation. That said, every GTA since San Andreas has had mod shops, and the trailers are full of brightly painted muscle cars and lowered sports cars. We expect deep customization to return in Grand Theft Auto 6.
Will GTA 6 have car customization?
Very likely, though not confirmed. GTA 5's mod shops let you change paint, wheels, bodywork, engines, brakes, suspension and more. Dropping that would be a surprise. The style of cars shown in Vice City, with loud colours and custom touches, suggests Rockstar has car culture in mind.
What can you customize in GTA 6?
If GTA VI builds on GTA 5, expect these options:
- Paint colours, finishes and liveries
- Wheels, tyres and tyre smoke
- Bumpers, spoilers, skirts and other body parts
- Window tints and lights
- Engine, transmission, brakes and turbo upgrades
- Suspension height
- Armour and bulletproof tyres
We also expect Rockstar to add new options to suit Florida car culture, such as more lowrider and lifted truck styles, but that is pure speculation.
Rockstar has not shared any in-game economy details, so we cannot say what upgrades will cost. Expect top performance parts to be a big money sink, which is why our make money guide is worth bookmarking.
Where are mod shops in GTA 6?
Unknown. We expect several around Leonida, with the busiest in Vice City and smaller garages in rural areas like Ambrosia. We will add confirmed locations to the interactive map after launch.
Can you store cars in GTA 6?
In GTA 5, each character had garages where personal vehicles stayed. We expect Jason and Lucia to have places to keep cars, possibly tied to properties and businesses. Rockstar has not confirmed property ownership, so this is unconfirmed.
Can you customize boats and bikes?
GTA 5 allowed motorcycle mods but very limited boat options. With water so central to Leonida, we hope boats get more attention this time. See our boats page for what has been shown.
