GTA 6 Roleplay: Will RP Servers Come to GTA 6?
GTA 5 roleplay servers have huge audiences, and Rockstar now owns the team behind FiveM. Here is what that could mean for roleplay in GTA 6, and when RP servers might arrive.
On this page
GTA 6 roleplay is one of the biggest questions for streamers and PC players. GTA 5 roleplay servers, where players act out lives as cops, criminals and civilians, have drawn huge audiences on streaming sites for years. In 2023, Rockstar acquired Cfx.re, the team behind the FiveM and RedM modding platforms, which brought that scene under its own roof.
Nothing has been announced about GTA 6 roleplay. This page explains the background and our expectations.
What is GTA roleplay?
GTA RP takes place on community-run servers, mostly on PC. Players create characters, follow server rules and act out stories, from police patrols to gang politics. Servers use mods to add jobs, phones, housing and economies that the base game does not have.
Did Rockstar buy FiveM?
Rockstar announced in 2023 that the Cfx.re team, which makes FiveM for GTA 5 and RedM for Red Dead 2, had joined Rockstar. That was seen as a sign Rockstar takes roleplay seriously.
Will GTA 6 have roleplay servers?
Speculation: it is likely, but not at launch. GTA 6 is launching on consoles first, while roleplay has mostly lived on PC, and the PC version is expected later. Rockstar may offer official support for community servers, but nothing is confirmed.
Could GTA 6 Online have official RP?
Speculation: Rockstar could add roleplay-friendly features to GTA 6 Online, such as more jobs, housing and voice chat, rather than leaving it all to mods.
What would GTA 6 RP look like?
Leonida's mix of city, swamps and small towns, plus a busy police presence, makes it a natural fit. Speculation: expect Vice City cop dramas, Keys smuggling crews and Ambrosia biker clubs. See gangs and factions.
