On this page
The GTA 6 trailer songs are "Love Is a Long Road" by Tom Petty in Trailer 1, "Hot Together" by The Pointer Sisters in Trailer 2, and music by Justice in the launch trailer. Those are the only confirmed tracks from the official Grand Theft Auto 6 trailers so far.
Rockstar has always chosen trailer music carefully, and each of these picks says something about the tone of the game.
What song is in GTA 6 Trailer 1?
Trailer 1, released on 5 December 2023, uses "Love Is a Long Road" by Tom Petty. The song is warm and a little wistful, which works against the crime and chaos on screen.
The lyrics about a long, difficult road fit a story about two people trying to make a life together, even if that life is built on crime. It is a big reason the trailer felt more emotional than fans expected.
What song is in GTA 6 Trailer 2?
Trailer 2, released on 6 May 2025, is set to "Hot Together" by The Pointer Sisters. It is upbeat and playful, and it leans hard into the romance between Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos.
The choice suits a trailer that spends more time on the couple and their chemistry than on the wider world.
What music is in the GTA 6 launch trailer?
The launch trailer, released on 15 October 2026, features music by Justice, the French electronic duo. It brings a modern, high-energy sound that matches a fast cut of the couple's crime spree across Leonida.
It is also the first GTA 6 trailer to use contemporary electronic music rather than a classic track, which may hint at the range of sounds players can expect in the game.
Will the trailer songs be in the game?
Rockstar has not confirmed whether these songs will appear on the in-game radio. In past games, some trailer songs made it onto the soundtrack and some did not.
We think there is a good chance at least one of them shows up, given how closely they are tied to the marketing. Until the game launches, treat that as an expectation rather than a fact. Our GTA 6 radio stations page tracks what is known and rumoured about the soundtrack.
Why do GTA trailer songs matter?
Trailer music sets the mood before anyone plays a minute of the game. For GTA 6, the mix of a classic rock ballad, a 1980s pop hit and a modern electronic act points to a world that blends nostalgia for old Vice City with a sharp, present-day edge.
Fans also use the songs as clues. Lyrics and tone are often read as hints about the story, so it is worth listening closely when you rewatch the trailers.
