Rockstar Confirms GTA 6 Has Hundreds of Interiors to Explore
Rockstar developers told Bloomberg that GTA 6 has hundreds of small interiors you can walk into, from gyms to back offices. There is no exact count yet.

GTA 6 will have hundreds of interiors you can walk into. Rockstar's developers said so while showing the game to Bloomberg's Jason Schreier for his making-of feature, and the detail has been picked up widely over the weekend as one of the clearest upgrades over GTA 5.
The line from the Rockstar team was simple: there are so many of these little interiors, "hundreds of them", that you can go and explore. Because it comes straight from the developers, we mark it as confirmed.
What did Rockstar show?
According to the reports, development lead Rob Nelson played a short stretch as Jason to show how the interiors are used:
- A gym, where Jason did squats while Lucia ran on a treadmill.
- A bank, which the pair walked through to decide whether it was worth robbing. Jason passed because there were too many guards.
- A back office, which Schreier believed belonged to a gas station. They slipped in, switched off the alarm and took the cash without anyone noticing.
The bank and back office are the interesting part. They suggest interiors aren't just scenery: you can scout a place, judge the risk and pull off a small job on your own terms. Our GTA 6 heists page covers what that could mean for bigger robberies.

How does that compare with GTA 5?
GTA 5 had far fewer open buildings outside missions, and outlets put its launch count at well under 100. Many of its shops and offices were closed shells. Even without an exact figure, "hundreds" would be a big jump. See GTA 5 vs GTA 6 for the other major changes.

What is still unknown?
- The exact number. Rockstar hasn't given one. Figures like "700+ enterable buildings" circulating online are fan estimates, not official.
- Which buildings. Not every building will open, and Rockstar hasn't published a list.
- How deep they go. Some interiors may be full spaces with things to do, others just a room or two.
We track what we know on our GTA 6 interiors page and will mark enterable buildings on the interactive map after the game launches on November 19.
