GTA 6 Is Reportedly a 210 GB Download on PS5

Get your storage ready: GTA 6 could be a 210 GB download on PS5. The figure comes from PlayStation Game Size, an X account that tracks download sizes from Sony's store systems, which posted it on October 27, 2026.

Rockstar hasn't confirmed the size, and the PlayStation Store page doesn't list it yet, so treat this as a report for now.

Where does the 210 GB figure come from?

PlayStation Game Size reads data that shows up on Sony's servers before store pages are updated. Its past numbers for big releases have usually been close, which is why outlets such as GameRant and GamesRadar picked the claim up quickly. Even so, it is not an official listing, and the final size can still change before launch.

The number also falls inside our own estimate of 150 GB to 250 GB from our preload and file size guide.

How much space will GTA 6 take on PS5?

A download size and an install size are not always the same, and a day-one patch will add more on top. A rough guide:

• Reported download: about 210 GB on PS5.
• Launch PS5: about 667 GB of usable storage, so GTA 6 alone would fill nearly a third of it.
• Safe target: clear at least 250 GB before preloading starts, so the download and any patch can finish without errors.

If your console is nearly full, an internal M.2 SSD upgrade or deleting a few big games now saves a scramble on launch week.

What about Xbox Series X|S?

No Xbox figure has appeared yet, from Microsoft or from trackers. Expect something similar to the PS5 version. Xbox Series S owners should plan the most carefully, since that console has the least built-in storage.

When will we know the official size?

The real figure should show up on store pages by the time preloading starts on November 12, one week before GTA 6 launches on November 19. Boxed copies come with a download code rather than a disc, so they need the same space as a digital copy.

We'll update this story and our launch day checklist as soon as Rockstar, Sony or Microsoft confirm the size.
