GTA 6 is the first GTA built around a couple. Here is how Jason and Lucia's relationship might work in gameplay, from trust and dates to friends, and what GTA 4 and San Andreas did before.

GTA 6 relationships are at the centre of the story. Rockstar has presented Jason and Lucia as a couple from the first trailer, and every trailer since has leaned on their romance and trust. What we do not know is whether that bond is just story or a system you play.

Is GTA 6 a love story?

Partly. The trailers frame Jason and Lucia as a Bonnie and Clyde style couple, and their trust in each other is a running theme. See Jason and Lucia's story for what the trailers show.

Did past GTA games have dating?

  • GTA San Andreas let CJ date several girlfriends, with a relationship meter and perks for keeping them happy.
  • GTA 4 had dating and friends. Niko could take dates and friends out to bowl, play darts or see a show, and friends gave useful perks.
  • GTA 5 dropped most of this, apart from hanging out with friends.

Will GTA 6 have a relationship meter?

Speculation: a trust or bond meter between Jason and Lucia would suit a story about loyalty. Choices in missions, or how you treat each other, could affect it. Rockstar has not said anything about this.

Can Jason and Lucia go on dates?

Speculation: activities such as eating out, drinking at a bar, going to the beach or playing minigames together are plausible, given how many scenes show them relaxing together. GTA 4's hangouts are the most likely model.

Will there be friends to hang out with?

Likely: side characters like Cal Hampton and Brian Heder could become friends you can call, the way GTA 4 and GTA 5 handled it.

Could the relationship affect the ending?
