The GTA 6 phone is likely to be the most important menu in the game. Grand Theft Auto 6 trailers are full of vertical video, livestreams and social feeds, and every GTA since GTA 4 has used a phone for contacts, missions and apps. Rockstar has not shown the phone interface itself, so the app list below is our expectation.

What does the phone do in GTA 6?

In GTA 5, the phone handled calls, texts, email, the internet, the camera and quick jobs. We expect GTA VI to keep all of that and lean much harder into social media, because the trailers make it central to how Leonida sees itself.

Likely phone features include:

  • Contacts for calling characters like Cal Hampton or Raul Bautista
  • Texts and mission messages
  • A camera for photos and selfies
  • A map or navigation app
  • Social feeds with clips from the world

Is there social media in GTA 6?

Yes, in-game social media is shown in the official trailers. Feeds and livestreams parody real viral Florida clips, with people filming fights, wildlife and crimes. Our GTA 6 social media page covers what has been shown.

We expect the phone to be your window into those feeds. It is possible that your own crimes show up on them, which could tie into the wanted system, but Rockstar has not explained that link.

Will Jason and Lucia have separate phones?

Almost certainly. GTA 5 gave each of its three leads their own phone with different contacts and themes. With Jason and Lucia sharing a story, we expect each to have a phone with some shared contacts and some of their own.

Can you use the phone to buy things?

GTA 5 let you buy cars, properties and stocks through in-game websites. We expect a similar shopping layer in GTA 6, likely for vehicles and possibly businesses. See our properties and businesses page for what might be for sale.

Will there be phone cheats in GTA 6?

GTA 5 let you enter cheats by dialling numbers on the phone. Cheat codes for GTA 6 are unknown, so any lists you see before launch should be treated as fake. We will update our cheats page after release.

FAQ

Does GTA 6 have a phone?

Rockstar has not shown the phone menu, but phones and social video are all over the trailers. A phone is near certain, since every modern GTA has one.

Is social media in GTA 6?

Yes. The trailers show in-game social feeds and livestreams that parody real viral clips.

Can you take selfies in GTA 6?

GTA 5 had a selfie mode, and the trailers lean heavily on phone footage, so we expect a camera with selfies. It is not officially confirmed.

Do GTA 6 cheats use the phone?

Unknown. GTA 5 used phone numbers for cheats, but no GTA 6 cheats have been announced.
