GTA 6 Sets a Circana Record for Purchase Intent
Circana says 29% of US console and PC players plan to buy GTA 6, the highest purchase intent its PlayerPulse tracker has recorded for any game.

Three weeks before launch, GTA 6 has broken a record of its own. Market research firm Circana says 29% of US console and PC players plan to buy Grand Theft Auto VI, the highest purchase intent its PlayerPulse tracker has ever measured for a game.
The figure was published on October 28, 2026, and reported by GameSpot and financial news sites.
What does 29% purchase intent mean?
PlayerPulse asks players in the US which upcoming games they intend to buy. Nearly one in three saying "GTA 6" is a huge share for a single title. Circana analyst Mat Piscatella described it as a rare cultural and commercial moment, coming 13 years after GTA V.
A few things to keep in mind:
- It's intent, not sales. People saying they plan to buy a game isn't the same as buying it.
- The record is Circana's own. It's the highest in PlayerPulse's history; Circana hasn't said which game held the old record.
- PC is in the survey, not the launch. GTA 6 launches on PS5 and Xbox Series X|S only, with a PC version not yet announced.

How does this fit with pre-order numbers?
It lines up with earlier estimates. Earlier this month, Sensor Tower put digital pre-orders at more than 6.45 million. Take-Two hasn't shared any sales or pre-order figures of its own.
