GTA 6 fan wishlists have been growing since 2013. Across forums, Reddit threads and comment sections, the same requests come up again and again. Some look likely based on what Rockstar has shown, others are long shots.

This page reflects community sentiment, not Rockstar plans. We rate each wish by how likely we think it is.

What do fans want most from GTA 6?

  1. Story DLC. The biggest single request, after GTA 5 never got any. Our take: uncertain. See story DLC.
  2. Planned heists like GTA 5. Players loved choosing approaches and crews. Our take: likely, given Raul Bautista. See heists.
  3. More buildings to enter. Fans want to walk into shops, bars and homes. Our take: likely to improve, based on the interiors shown so far.
  4. A Vice City property empire. The 2002 game let Tommy buy businesses that paid out. Our take: plausible. See properties and businesses.
  5. Smarter police. Fans want chases that feel fair but tense. Our take: likely, given how much police footage is in the trailers. See the wanted system.

What do fans want from the world?

  • Red Dead 2 levels of detail, with NPCs who remember you and react to what you do
  • Wildlife that matters, especially alligators in the swamps. See GTA 6 wildlife.
  • Weather that changes how you play, from storms to flooding. See weather.
  • Great radio, with a mix of modern music and Vice City nostalgia. See radio stations.

What do fans want from gameplay?

  • Character customisation with haircuts, tattoos and body changes that last
  • Deeper car tuning and car meets. See car customisation.
  • Weightier gunplay, closer to Red Dead 2. See combat.
  • Lots of side content: strangers, random events and minigames. See side missions.

What do fans not want?

The loudest worry is that story mode will be thin while all the attention goes to online, as many felt happened with GTA 5. Others worry about online grind and paid shortcuts leaking into single-player. Rockstar has not said anything that confirms or rules out either.

What are the long-shot wishes?

  • A cameo from Tommy Vercetti or other old characters
  • Three or more playable characters, as in GTA 5
  • Multiple cities beyond Vice City at launch

Speculation: cameos are the most likely of these, in small form such as a radio mention or an easter egg. See easter eggs.

FAQ

What is the most requested GTA 6 feature?

Story DLC tops most lists, followed by planned heists and more enterable buildings.

Will GTA 6 have a property system like Vice City?

Not confirmed. The original Vice City's business assets are a fan favourite, and GTA 5 let you buy properties, so something similar is plausible.

Will GTA 6 have more than two protagonists?

Unlikely. Rockstar has presented Jason and Lucia as the two leads.

Is GTA 6 focused on online instead of story?

Rockstar has only shown story mode so far. Details about GTA 6 Online have not been announced.
